After another barren spell on the new Disney+ movies front, the House of Mouse has finally seen fit to end that drought.
Indeed, with the Timothée Chalamet-starring A Complete Unknown joining Disney+‘s back catalog (internationally, it’s on Hulu in the US), I’ve got another reason to update a guide that’s been looking particularly sparse on the new movies front.
Anyway, you can learn more about the new Disney+ films that have recently launched on one of the world’s best streaming services below. If the pickings are too slim for you, I’d recommend viewing our best Disney+ movies for other top-tier suggestions, too. For now, though, read on to find out more about the two latest Disney+ movies to land on the service.
New Disney+ movies: April
A Complete Unknown
Release date: April 30 (available on Hulu in the US)

It’s strange to think it’s taken so long for a Bob Dylan biopic to be made but, in late 2024, James Mangold and Jay Cocks released their fictionalized take on events surrounding the legendary singer-songwriter with A Complete Unknown. Hugely popular actor Chalamet plays Dylan in a film that charts the musician’s meteoric rise to the top of his profession through the ’60s and ’70s, all the while dealing with reams of melodrama, controversial relationships and performances, and a rapidly-changing industry and world. Fans and critics alike enjoyed this one so, whether you’re a fan of Dylan, Chalamet, or both, it’s worth checking out.
A Real Pain

One of many films that made its way onto my best movies of 2024 list, A Real Pain stars Eisenberg and Culkin as David and Benji, mismatched cousins who embark on a trip to Poland to honor their late and much-loved grandmother. However, when their differences resurface during the lengthy jaunt to her homeland, things take a cringe-comedy-based turn for the worse. Equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and haunting, A Real Pain is worth its positive critical and audiences scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Eisenberg is great as one half of this film’s odd-couple dynamic, but Culkin is absolutely superb and fully deserves the multiple gongs he won on the 2025 awards circuit for this performance.
New Disney Plus movies: coming soon
Spider-Man fans don’t have long to wait (at the time of this article’s latest update) for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s addition to Disney+ in the US.
For viewers outside of the states, though, there are currently no new Disney+ movies set to arrive in the month of May. Here’s hoping Captain America: Brave New World‘s Disney+ release date is announced soon to give you all something to look forward to.
